The Market in Brief
July represented a less than interesting story for sales & listings volumes this summer, but it’s time to celebrate because the market seems to have staged quite a comeback in August! Looks like the comeback is continuing into September, and we’re currently seeing more listings and sales than we have in quite some time.
We’d generally expect about 45% of all the sales for the year to occur between May & August. This is what we’d call the “busy season”. It starts out strong for a couple of months, tapers off by 10% a month in the middle of summer, and continues this way into the fall until our eyes become set on Christmas instead of real estate for the winter break. We won’t have the numbers until year’s end, but it’s looks like we had a bit of a slow spring, followed by a dry summer, and our best months are beginning to roll in now? Unusual, you bet!
